Housekeeping

Black Static #57 is now available, and it contains great stories by Mike O’Driscoll, Ralph Robert Moore and Simon Avery – along with my own story, The Chambermaid, which is a creepy tale of what you find in people’s hotel rooms when you’re cleaning up after them, and what you can read into the objects that surround you. I think it’s more than a bit influenced by Robert Aickman. You can get hold of Black Static here.

There’s also a review by Pete Tennant of my novel Skein Island. Here’s a tiny bit:

Skein Island reads like a clever conflation of The Wicker Man and John Fowles’ novel The Magus, with gender politics providing a subtext and mythological archetypes populating its pages.”

So that’s Aickman, Fowles and The Wicker Man working their magic upon me. I’m very happy with that.

If that sounds interesting, you can buy Skein Island here.
